Major firm launches new residential agency

L-R: Ian Powis, Maxine Reynolds and Nick-Jones

Bidwells has launched a new full-service residential estate agency in Oxford, bringing together sales, lettings and new homes under one roof in the city for the first time.

The new operation combines three main service lines within a single team structure. Maxine Reynolds leads the sales division, overseeing resale transactions in Oxford.

Nick Jones joins as a partner following the acquisition by Bidwells of his business, Nicholas Jones Residential, which has been operating in the area for over a decade with a portfolio of apartments and houses. He will lead the Let’s Arm.

Meanwhile, Ian Powis, who joins Bidwells in January 2025, leads the new homes offering, working with developers on the marketing and sales of new-build schemes across the region.

The new housing agency is directly supported by Bidwells’ land and development team, led by Zanna Bowles in Oxford, providing access to planning intelligence, development economics and pipeline visibility.

Bidwells already has a broad presence in Oxford across science and technology advisory, planning, project management, rural agency and advisory services to clients.

David Bentley, head of residential at Bidwells, said: “What we are building in Oxford is a fundamentally different proposition to most residential agencies. Maxine, Nick and Ian each bring deep local expertise in their respective disciplines, but it is the combination of sales, rentals and new homes with our land, development and planning teams that gives clients something they can’t get anywhere else.

“Oxford is one of the most supply-constrained markets in the country and the demand fundamentals are only getting stronger. We are delighted to welcome him to the team and build on this offering here.”

The launch of Bidwells’ Oxford residential agency marks a significant step in the firm’s Nexus growth strategy, which aims to double the size of the business through regional expansion, service diversification and investment in high-growth areas.
