
Allsopp has paid tribute to long-time team member and head auctioneer Will Clough, who died suddenly earlier this month.
Clough joined the firm as a graduate in 2010 and was made partner in 2022. He became head auctioneer in Allsop’s commercial auction business.
In a statement, the company described him as one of the UK’s finest auctioneers, as well as a respected leader and colleague and close friend to many in the business and the wider property industry.
Andrew Boyd, senior partner at Allsopp, said: “From his early days at Allsopp, it was clear that Will had the character and skills to be an exceptional auctioneer. He had the natural ability to work a room with utmost professionalism and charisma. Whether addressing experienced investors or first-time buyers, he struck the right balance between confidence and approachability, making everyone comfortable while maintaining complete control of the auction room. As well as using his auctioneering skills in the property world, character True to form, Will and his gavel were always there to support many charitable events and causes throughout the years.
“Doesn’t begin to describe Will within Allsopp. He was an incredible leader of our firm, both in his ability as an auctioneer as well as because of his wide-ranging influence in shaping our future and the next generation. He epitomized everything you want in a partner and, with his character and leadership, he was destined to play a major role in our business. As well as being a leading light in the firm and the auction world, he was an extraordinary friend to many current and former colleagues. Were friends.
