An established estate agency group has pledged to support private landlords as a long-term partner as they navigate a range of legislative changes impacting the private rented sector, establishing itself as a source of guidance and continuity during a period of regulatory reform.
Parkers has organized a landlord and property investor event, which has attracted over 200 registrations and over 120 attendees.
The event was organized over six weeks in response to landlords’ concerns about proposed tenant rights reforms and other legislative changes. The attendance shows that there is a continued demand for information on how these developments may impact compliance and investment decisions.
Simon West, director of Parkers, said landlords needed to understand the changes and the steps needed to prepare. He said the objective of the event is to provide clear guidance on the implications of the reforms.
He commented: “With some of the most significant changes to the rental sector in the last 30 years now on the horizon, it is absolutely essential that landlords fully understand what is happening, how these changes will impact them, and what practical steps they need to take to prepare.
“There is a degree of uncertainty in the market, but events like this are about removing that uncertainty and providing clear, straightforward guidance, ensuring that landlords feel informed, confident and equipped to make the right decisions for their portfolios. Our role is to support them every step of the way, especially during a period of such significant regulatory change.”
The event was organized by two Parkers franchisees from its 11-branch network, bringing together landlords and property investors from their areas.
Toby Phillips, group managing director of Parkers, said: “Our priority, especially in times of change, is and always has been to support our customers by providing clear, reliable guidance. With the Tenant Rights Act coming into force from 1 May, we recognize that many landlords are seeking reassurance and practical advice about how best to respond.
“The feedback from the event has been extremely positive. Attendees benefited from a range of expert speakers, each of whom provided valuable insight into different aspects of the emerging rental landscape. Importantly, landlords left with a clear understanding of what’s coming next and confidence that they are not making these changes alone.
“We want landlords to know that we are here as a long-term partner, offering not just advice, but proactive support and tailored solutions to help them adapt, remain compliant and succeed in an increasingly complex market.”
