AI advisory board report highlights estate agent challenges

Rex Software An AI advisory board set up to examine how estate agencies are using artificial intelligence has published the findings.

The board was formed after internal research indicated that many agents are unsure how to effectively implement AI in day-to-day operations. It also looked at ongoing questions from customers about how the increased use of AI in the home selling process could impact service delivery.

The findings highlight several recurring operational themes within agencies:

Administration pressure and data quality: Increasing workload is leading to less time for administrative tasks, which the Board links to discrepancies in data quality.

Lead management: Agents report difficulty prioritizing sales inquiries, buyers, market leads, and contacts across messaging channels, with limited visibility into which prospects to focus on each day.

Follow-up activity: Research shows that agents focus on a small portion of active leads, while not regularly re-engaging large portions of their database.

Task clarity: There is a demand for clear guidelines on daily tasks, including which calls to make and the reasons behind them.

Preparing for the call: The Board highlights that providing context and talking points for the call is seen as reducing uncertainty around the outreach activity.

Database utilization: The findings reveal that a significant portion of agency databases – including past buyers and historical leads – are not regularly used in ongoing marketing activity.

Tom Ainsworth, CRO of Rex Software, said: “Our AI advisory board provided great findings straight from the source. This was an opportunity for us to give agency leaders a seat at the table and use their voices to tell us directly what challenges they face in their business. And now we’re solving those challenges through integrated AI workflows that streamline operations and open up opportunities for growth.”
