Rightmove and Propertymark have partnered to launch new training pathways to two accredited estate agency qualifications.
The Propertymark Level 3 Certificate of Competency in Property Agency (****) is now available to all Rightmove members as part of their existing membership. The program includes separate sales and rental pathways, allowing agents to focus on training related to their work area.
The initiative is part of Rightmove’s broader investment in education, tools and training, aimed at supporting agents as industry requirements and legislation continue to evolve. It aims to help teams maintain professional knowledge, support client relationships and prepare for potential regulatory change.
The training has been developed following feedback from agents requesting more tailored qualifications, including dedicated sales-only and lettings-only options within the Rightmove platform.
Qualifications are designed to provide a standardized framework for professional practice and can be used by agents when discussing their services with buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants.
Research from Rightmove’s consumer panel suggests strong expectations around professional standards, with many respondents indicating that they would prefer agents to have formal qualifications and a significant proportion believing that such requirements already exist.
This new training builds on the first Level 3 Certificate for Estate and Letting Agents (CELA), launched in 2022, which has seen over 10,500 enrolments. The CELA qualification also provides a route to Propertymark membership including NAEA and ARLA.
Professional qualifications are also referenced in government discussions on property sector reform, with ongoing consultation to consider future standards for agents.

Jason Charles, Rightmove’s head of education, said: “Agents are working in a market where professional standards, regulation and consumer expectations are all rapidly evolving. Qualifications provide teams with a practical way to prove their expertise, build trust with home-movers and stand out in negotiations with sellers and landlords.
“By working with Propertymark and making this training available through Rightmove membership, we are helping agents get ahead of potential regulatory change while adding knowledge and confidence to their teams. We have already seen agencies using the qualification as a valuable talking point with home-movers.”
Nathan Emerson, CEO of Propertymark, said: “Ensuring that property professionals have access to a range of tailored and exclusive educational opportunities is a fundamental ambition that both Propertymark and Rightmove believe passionately about.
“With consumers saying that working with qualified property businesses is a key expectation, it will be even more prudent that the sector proactively makes provisions to stay ahead of the upcoming change.
“Our own insights tell us that competence and professional representation are highly valued by consumers, and we are delighted to be working with Rightmove to enhance existing standards and promote additional levels of sector excellence.”
